Lakeland is affordable and desireable!

Lakeland, Florida and Surrounding Communities

Where else can you be about an hour from the Gulf Coast, everything Disney and find an affordable home?  The answer, Lakeland, Florida and the surrounding communities.  Lakeland was just named the 18th fasted growing area in the United States by US News and World Report.  If your desire is to be in an area outside the hustle and bustle but still have access to the fun and sun, this area may just be the perfect place to plant roots!

Known for its numerous lakes, the city offers a blend of natural beauty, historical charm, and modern amenities. Lakeland boasts a rich history, evident in its well-preserved architecture and historic districts. It is home to Florida Southern College, which features the largest single-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. The city is also renowned for its cultural attractions, including the Polk Museum of Art and the annual Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In, one of the largest aviation events in the country.

Surrounding Communities:

Winter Haven: Just southeast of Lakeland, Winter Haven is famous for its Chain of Lakes, offering extensive recreational opportunities such as boating, fishing, and water sports. It is also home to LEGOLAND Florida Resort, a major attraction for families.

Bartow: Located south of Lakeland, Bartow is known as the "City of Oaks and Azaleas." It is the county seat of Polk County and features a charming downtown area with historic buildings, antique shops, and local eateries.

Auburndale: This community lies to the east of Lakeland and offers a small-town feel with close proximity to larger city amenities. Auburndale is known for its parks, sports complexes, and the scenic Lake Myrtle Sports Park.

Plant City: West of Lakeland, Plant City is celebrated for its strawberry farms and the annual Florida Strawberry Festival, a significant event drawing visitors from all over the region. The community has a rich agricultural heritage and a welcoming, small-town atmosphere.

Mulberry: Situated to the southwest, Mulberry has a deep connection to Florida’s phosphate mining industry. It is home to the Mulberry Phosphate Museum and offers various outdoor activities, including hiking and birdwatching in its parks and nature reserves.

Davenport: Located to the northeast, Davenport is a growing community known for its close proximity to the major attractions of Orlando while maintaining a more relaxed and suburban feel. It is a popular area for new residential developments and vacation homes.

Overall, Lakeland and its surrounding communities offer a diverse array of lifestyles and amenities, from bustling urban centers to tranquil rural settings, making the area an attractive destination for a wide range of residents and visitors.
